About the Performers…

Hilary Baboukis…

…is the Associate Conductor at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in NYC, the Administrator of Great Music under a Byzantine Dome, and an Adjunct Voice Instructor at Wagner College, Staten Island. She is also the Marketing and Development Associate at The York Theatre Company.

Her recent engagements include Die Fledermaus (Orlofsky), The Pirates of Penzance (Modern Major General), The Yeomen of the Guard (Phoebe), and Der Rosenkavalier (Octavian), and appearances as mezzo/alto soloist in Beethoven’s Mass in C and Ninth Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Lord Nelson Mass, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, the Monteverdi Vespers, Mozart’s Requiem, and Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio. Her recent collaborations have included work with Artefact Ensemble, Cappella Romana, the Co-Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Melodia, Ridgewood Gilbert and Sullivan, (slightly) Tipsy Opera, The Saint Tikhon Choir, Summit Chorale, Vocala, and Voices of Ascension.

Ms. Baboukis studied at Columbia (NYC), the American University in Cairo, and Oklahoma State University (Stillwater). She lives in Jersey City, where she teaches voice and piano privately, and can be found at hilarybaboukis.com

Veronica Shea…

…is a singer, actor, digital marketer, and performing arts producer throughout the NYC Metro area. For the past two summers, Ms. Shea has attended
the Narnia International Vocal Arts Festival, performing in the world premieres of Jake Landau’s new operas Pietà and & Aeterna. Other recent performances include Musetta in Light Opera of New Jersey’s production of La bohéme, Mabel in both Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan’s and Summit Chorale’s The Pirates of Penzance, and Julie Jordan in Off-Brand Opera’s Carousel.

Ms. Shea is the Founder and Executive Director of Eccentric Theater Company (ETC.), a collection of artists dedicated to pushing the boundaries of a standard theater company. She is also a Founder and co-Artistic Director for Off-Brand Opera, a new company dedicated to creating intersectional and genre-bending interpretations of new and classic work. She is currently the Director of Marketing at the York Theatre Company, and the President of the Board of Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company.

David Maiullo…

…is a highly regarded pianist and music director who has performed in over 3,000 recitals. Opera Now Magazine has described him as a “pianist of sentiment, discretion, and style.” He has performed numerous times at Carnegie, Alice Tully, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Avery Fischer Hall, and at international venues throughout Europe and Japan.

David has collaborated with many notable singers and has served as accompanist for the Licia Albanese/Puccini Foundation, the Gerda Lissner Foundation, the Altamura/Caruso Foundation, and Opera at Florham. David is on the faculty at New Jersey City University and has served as coach/accompanist for the musical theater class at the Juilliard School and as chorus master for the New Jersey State Opera for seven seasons. He has just been appointed accompanist for Summit Chorale.
